Common Box (Buxus sempervirens) is a slow growing hardy native evergreen hedging plant with fragrant foliage. Boxwood flowers are yellow appearing in late spring.
The very dense growth habit and small, glossy dark leaves of the boxwood make it ideal for low formal hedging. It is suitable in any soil, in particular well drained in partial shade. For Hedging, plant young plants just below the nursery soil mark to encourage growth from the base.
