Yew (Taxus baccata)
The Yew (Taxus baccata) is a dense, dark native evergreen with bright red fruits that are attractive to birds in winter but harmful to humans, pets and livestock. As a classic formal hedge choice, the Yew hedge is quite slow growing (approximately 15/30cm per year) so once it reaches its desired height, it's easy to maintain as an attractive boundry hedge.
