Grapefruit trees (Citus paradisi) are large slow growing evergreens that can grow to 6m in subtropical climates, and produce delicious bitter fruits. In the UK, Grapefruit trees are best grown against south-facing walls where the reflected light and heat will give it much needed nourishment and produce sweeter fruits. Grapefruit trees need regular watering until established and then must be deeply watered in the height of summer, and offered protection from frosts and harsh winter climates.

The Grapefruit Tree is a stunning plant that can be kept in shape with pruning and makes a beautiful feature container plant for a warm summer patio.

Citrus paradisi are slow growing evergreens that require full sun or heat to produce fruits. They will thrive in container pots with winter protection and it is advised that the plant is brought indoors during the winter months. Ensure your citrus tree is given plenty of water, especially during the first year, and the roots are not allowed to dry out! It is advised to fertilise your citrus tree with general fertiliser in the spring before new growth, and prune it during the winter when the plant is dormant.
